What team format? A fixed-price product agency (Galadrim, Kreactive, ZOL, Wanadev Digital) commits to a result and is suitable for projects to be built. An engineering consultancy (Ippon, Zenika) is suitable for strengthening an already structured in-house team. A specialised studio (My Lucky Day, Rtone) is suitable when the need is specific.
A team in Lyon, or an agency with an address in Lyon? Ask where the project manager and developers actually work, and if you can meet them. A Lyon office does not guarantee that the team assigned to your project will be there.
What budget should you plan for? Observed market price ranges in 2026: a first version of a web or mobile application ranges between 40,000 € and 120,000 €. A complete business software, with integrations and data migration, from 100,000 € to 400,000 €. For time & materials, expect 500 € to 850 € daily rate depending on seniority, with Lyon rates generally remaining slightly lower than those in Paris.
The filtering question: "Can you show me a comparable application that you've put into production and still maintain?" An agency that can only cite a brochure website isn't the right one for software.
