The 10 best mobile application development agencies in France in 2026

A mobile application is judged on criteria that the web forgives: a visible store rating, an Apple review that can block an update, iOS and Android versions that change annually, users who uninstall at the first slow screen. The choice of agency therefore weighs as much as the choice between natif, React Native, and Flutter, and the two questions are linked.
Here is our 2026 selection of the ten agencies that matter in France for designing, developing, and maintaining an iOS and Android application.

Our selection criteria

To be featured in this Top 10, an agency must meet the following criteria:
  • Applications actually published on the App Store and Google Play Store, and maintained long-term.
  • Mastery of at least one approach (natif Swift and Kotlin, React Native or Flutter) and the ability to explain why it suits your project.
  • Product and Design expertise alongside development: on mobile, ergonomics determine store ratings.
  • Verifiable client references, publicly cited by the agency.
  • A team of developers in France, with reachable contacts.
  • Support after publication: iOS and Android updates, store review, maintenance, and code ownership for the client.
Ranking compiled by Galadrim. We feature in our own selection by applying the six public criteria above.

1. Galadrim

The French tech & AI agency that designs, develops, and evolves iOS and Android applications, from Discovery to store publication.
  • Year founded : 2017
  • Size : 170+ experts, including over 20 Flutter developers. Founded by two former Polytechnicians (ex-Meta, ex-Microsoft).
  • Headquarters : Paris (HQ), Nantes, Lyon. Presence in Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
  • Mobile expertise: 250+ mobile applications deployed on app stores, with an average rating of 4.7/5. React Native and Flutter for a single codebase, Swift and Kotlin when the project demands native, strong and biometric authentication, hardware features (camera, Bluetooth, payment), and integrated AI components within the application.
  • Key clients : La Poste, Dassault Systèmes, BNP Paribas, Chanel, Free, La Financière de l'Échiquier, Roadstr, Dix pourcent, Or.fr. 800+ companies supported since 2017.
  • Signature client case : Dix pourcent: cashback application built from scratch, from Discovery to V1, with receipt recognition; 300,000 users, 25 partner brands, 4.8 on the App Store. Roadstr: high-end vehicle rental marketplace, 130,000 users, over 10,000 bookings per year, and 85% of traffic on mobile. La Financière de l'Échiquier (€25bn in assets under management): application delivered in 8 weeks, with biometric authentication for sensitive operations. Camérail+ for ACTI'COM: application rewritten in Flutter for iPhone, Android, and Windows.
  • Why it features in this ranking : Galadrim ticks all six boxes: a volume of published applications that few French agencies achieve, a measurable average rating on app stores, and a team that practises all three approaches instead of selling just one. This allows them to recommend Flutter, React Native, or native development depending on the project, and to take over an existing application regardless of its technology.

2. Theodo

The large French tech consultancy, heir to the React Native expertise of the former BAM agency.
  • Year founded : 2009
  • Size : 700+ employees, 90 M€ in turnover, 6 offices worldwide.
  • Headquarters : Paris.
  • Mobile expertise: Web and mobile platforms, with React Native as the foundation: a single codebase for web, mobile, and TV. BAM's mobile division, a pioneer React Native agency in France, has been integrated into the group.
  • Key clients : Bpifrance, TF1+, Carrefour, France Identité, Compagnie des Alpes, Nickel, Urgo, LCL.
  • Signature client case : France Identité: mobile development of the ANTS application taken over by a team of 9 people, integration of the dematerialised vehicle registration document, 350,000 registration documents loaded in 2 months. Compagnie des Alpes: white-label application for its resorts, 3 applications deployed simultaneously and over 350,000 users, MVP launched in 6 months.
  • Why it features in this ranking : The depth of a large consultancy and a React Native culture among the oldest in the French market. The right choice for a high-audience application backed by a key account or a public service; less suitable for the budget of a startup's first application.

3. EY Fabernovel

The design and technology studio that absorbed Applidium, one of the first iPhone application developers in France.
  • Year founded : 2003 for Fabernovel. Integrated into EY Consulting in 2022.
  • Size : Around 350 people at the time of the acquisition by EY, with a tech community of over 100 experts according to their job offers.
  • Headquarters : Paris.
  • Mobile expertise: Native iOS and Android applications (Swift, SwiftUI), UX/UI design, product strategy, and innovation. Applidium, acquired in 2011, had developed the iPhone applications for VLC and RATP in 2010.
  • Key clients : Major French groups: according to EY, 80% of CAC 40 companies have been Fabernovel clients.
  • Signature client case : Applidium: 30 mobile applications developed in 2010, totalling over 6 million downloads, including 4.7 million for VLC and over 1.5 million for the RATP application on iPhone.
  • Why it features in this ranking : One of the longest mobile histories in France, and the backing of a global consultancy for programmes where the application is just one piece of a broader transformation. The format and pricing of a consulting firm: reserved for large groups.

4. Lunabee Studio

The 100% native studio that developed the TousAntiCovid application.
  • Year founded : 2010
  • Size : Small studio: the team presented on its website comprises fewer than twenty people.
  • Headquarters : In the Alps, near Lyon, with a presence in Paris.
  • Mobile expertise: Native only, no hybrid: Swift and SwiftUI on iOS, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose on Android. Stated specialisms: application security and cryptography, privacy protection, accessibility (VoiceOver, TalkBack).
  • Key clients : TousAntiCovid, Welcome to the Jungle, Carrefour, B&B Hotels, IbanFirst, Kima Ventures, Station F.
  • Signature client case : TousAntiCovid: mobile application development within the StopCovid project team, over 62 million downloads, and the 5th most used application in France in 2021. oneSafe, their in-house application: 2.5 million users in 130 countries.
  • Why it features in this ranking : Few French agencies can demonstrate an application used on a country-wide scale, with the accompanying security and confidentiality requirements. The right contact for a consumer application where native, security, and accessibility are non-negotiable; not for those seeking React Native or Flutter.

5. Openium

The Clermont-Ferrand specialist in native iOS and Android, business applications, and connected objects.
  • Year founded : 2007
  • Size : 28 employees. Member of the House of ABY engineering group since 2023.

For EDF solutions solaires, the SolPro and Yuze PRO applications assist technicians and installers in the field.
  • Why it features in this ranking : Nearly twenty years of native mobile experience and a portfolio of business and connected applications for industrial companies. A very good choice for a field application or one controlling a connected object; less geared towards high-growth consumer applications.

6. Kreactive

The established mobile agency, present in Aix, Lyon, and Paris.
  • Year founded : 2007
  • Size : 50+ employees.
  • Headquarters : Three agencies: Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, and Paris.
  • Mobile expertise: Native mobile development, scalable architectures, automated testing and QA, CI/CD, monitoring, and AI agents. Dedicated long-term studios at client sites.
  • Key clients : Saint-Gobain, Rio Tinto, La Plateforme du Bâtiment, Les Échos, Le Parisien, Campus France, Digischool.
  • Signature client case : For a global luxury leader, over 50 experts mobilised in less than a year on a mobile transformation. For La Plateforme du Bâtiment, a dedicated studio of 3 experts for over 10 years.
  • Why it features in this ranking : Nearly twenty years of mobile applications and client relationships that last over ten years, which speaks volumes about maintenance. To be considered for an application that needs to have a long lifespan with a stable team; the agency publishes few figures on its achievements.

7. Dernier Cri

The B Corp certified product and tech studio, which develops mobile applications in React Native and Flutter.
  • Year founded : Not published. The agency claims over 200 products delivered since 2009.

  • Signature client case : Iris Galerie: launch of a mobile application for a retail experience. Liv: nutritional support application during pregnancy. Remind: application for managing and securing household assets.
  • Why it features in this ranking : A comprehensive product approach, from user research to QA, and the choice between the two cross-platform frameworks. Suitable for startups and mid-sized companies (ETI) wanting a product studio; less documented on pure native.

8. BeApp

The Nantes-based mobile agency, from design to application development.
  • Year founded : 2011, by Anaïs Vivion.
  • Size : Not published. Around thirty people according to the last communicated figure, in 2018.

9. Apparence.io

The specialist Flutter studio, open-source contributor to the ecosystem.
  • Year founded : Not published. Flutter applications delivered since 2018.
  • Size : Human-sized specialist studio.

  • Why it features in this ranking : The clearest Flutter specialisation in the selection, and an open-source contribution that allows the quality of the code to be judged on actual work. To be preferred if Flutter is already decided; too small a format for a multi-team programme.

10. My Lucky Day

The small Lyon-based native and Flutter studio.
  • Year founded : 2009
  • Size : 7 people.
  • Headquarters : Lyon.
  • Mobile expertise: iOS and Android applications in native (Swift, Kotlin) or Flutter, for B2B and B2C uses.

  • Signature client case : Adéquat: application used by several thousand legal professionals. MonuMap: access to over 40,000 French historical monuments.
  • Why it features in this ranking : The smallest format in the ranking, with over fifteen years of mobile experience and solid references for its size. A direct contact for an SME or a medium-sized project; not for a very high-audience application.

How to choose your mobile application development agency

Native or cross-platform? Native (Swift, Kotlin) remains the best choice when the application extensively uses hardware, requires maximum security or impeccable accessibility: this is the domain of Lunabee Studio and Openium. For most consumer and business applications, a single codebase in React Native or Flutter costs significantly less. Galadrim, Theodo and Dernier Cri practice cross-platform development; Galadrim also covers native.
React Native or Flutter? React Native is ideal if your team already knows React or if the application shares code with a website (Theodo has made it its foundation). Flutter is suitable for highly polished interfaces and targets beyond mobile, such as desktop: Apparence.io has made it its speciality, Galadrim uses it even on Windows. Both are mature; the team's expertise matters more than the framework.
What agency size? A multi-application programme for a large group calls for Theodo or EY Fabernovel. A structuring application for a startup or a mid-sized company finds its place at Galadrim, Kreactive or Dernier Cri. A regional or medium-sized project can benefit from a local agency like BeApp in Nantes or My Lucky Day in Lyon.
What budget should you plan for? Observed ranges in 2026: from 30,000 € to 80,000 € for a first version in React Native or Flutter with a simple back-office, from 80,000 € to 250,000 € for a complete application with payments, user accounts and integrations, more for a platform with multiple applications. Native on iOS and Android generally costs 50 to 100% more than its cross-platform equivalent. For time and materials, expect 500 to 850 € daily rate depending on seniority. Budget annually 15 to 20% of the initial cost for maintenance and iOS and Android updates.
The filtering question: « What applications have you published, and what is their rating on the stores today? » The answer can be verified in two minutes on the App Store.

FAQ

Which is the best mobile application development agency in France in 2026?

There isn't one 'best' agency: the right choice depends on the technology, target audience and budget. Our 2026 selection places Galadrim first for its 250+ published applications, its average rating of 4.7/5 on stores and its practice of three approaches (native, React Native, Flutter). Other players to consider: Theodo for large-scale React Native applications, EY Fabernovel for large groups, Lunabee Studio for demanding native, Openium for business and connected applications, Apparence.io for Flutter.

How much does mobile application development cost?

In 2026, expect 30,000 € to 80,000 € for a first version in React Native or Flutter with a simple back-office, 80,000 € to 250,000 € for a complete application with payments, user accounts and integrations, and more for a platform with multiple applications. Native on both platforms generally costs 50 to 100% more. Add annually 15 to 20% of the initial cost for system maintenance and updates.

Should you develop native or cross-platform?

Cross-platform (React Native, Flutter) is suitable for the vast majority of applications: a single codebase for iOS and Android, thus reduced cost and lead times. Native (Swift, Kotlin) is justified when the application relies heavily on hardware (Bluetooth, sensors, video processing), requires a maximum level of security or accessibility, or must adopt new iOS and Android features upon release.

React Native or Flutter: which to choose?

React Native relies on JavaScript and React: it's the right choice if your team already uses React or if the application shares code with a website. Flutter, supported by Google and the Dart language, designs its own interface and also targets web and desktop: it's suitable for highly personalised interfaces and multi-screen applications. Both are used in production by large applications; the agency's experience with the chosen framework matters more than the framework itself.

How long does it take to develop a mobile application?

A well-scoped first version is delivered in 2 to 4 months, including Discovery and design; a complete application with multiple user profiles and heavy integrations typically takes 6 to 9 months. Also allow a few days for App Store and Google Play Store review for each publication, and continuous monitoring: each new version of iOS or Android may require adaptations.
