Since 2021, Galadrim has been carrying out its carbon assessment to identify potential sources of emission reductions.
Our 2024 carbon assessment
We had our carbon assessment carried out by the company
Orki, whose ambition is to enable all companies to easily carry out their carbon assessment. Orki was founded by former Galadrimeurs and is part of the Galadrim group. Orki's SaaS allowed us to calculate our emissions using 3 data sources:
Our questionnaires sent to Galadrimeurs, questioning them about their habits regarding transport, food, and remote work
Our accounting transactions : each transaction was categorised, and its carbon impact was evaluated against an average depending on each category (furniture purchase, train tickets, electricity...)
Data on our premises (in Paris and Nantes): surface area, energy consumption, standards, etc.
Putting all this data together, we obtained the long-awaited result: 232 tonnes of CO₂ were emitted in 2024. This corresponds to an average of 2.4 tonnes of CO₂ per employee, which places us below the average for our sector of activity.
Our reduction actions
To reduce our carbon footprint, we are implementing several actions:
We are mindful of the cloud service consumption of our projects. We adjust the services we use to each project's load (when not automatic), and we have cost alerts when a project demands more resources than we anticipated.
We make the most of our faulty IT equipment: when our computers reach the end of their life, rather than discarding them, we send them to a reseller who reconditions or recycles them.
We purchase our phones and tablets dedicated for testing on
BackMarket as refurbished.
The Galadrimers are educated on waste sorting and we provide recycling bins.
We also ensure we use trains rather than planes for our annual company trips.
