The need
- Datadog is a platform for monitoring and and cloud infrastructure analysis which generated 2,7 billion dollars in revenue in 2024.
- Calico is an open-source solution for container networking and security. It enables IP routing management, network access control, and the implementation of security policies.
- Datadog wanted to retrieve metrics from Calico into its ecosystem.
Galadrim's solution
- We integrated Calico's monitoring metrics into Datadog's centralised tool, via a agent coded in Python, with tests unit, functional, and integration, collaborating in English with the Datadog teams.
- Initially developed within Datadog's community environment, our codebase was then integrated into Datadog's Core code. The integration's user guide is available here.
